How CodeMarket works
Real money, held in escrow, released only when work is accepted. Here is the whole flow — for the people posting the work and the people writing the code.
If you are posting a bounty
- 01
Write the bounty
Describe what you need, pick the coding language, spoken language, difficulty and a deadline. Attach screenshots or mockups if it helps.
- 02
Fund escrow
The full reward leaves your wallet and is held in escrow. Coders can see the money is real before spending time on your problem.
- 03
Review solutions
Every claimant gets a private workroom with you. Submitted work is screened automatically and shown to you as video and images — no risky links required.
- 04
Release payment
Accept the solution you like. Escrow releases to the winner and the source code becomes yours. If a deadline passes with nothing accepted, everything is refunded automatically.
If you are writing the code
- 01
Find a bounty
Filter by language, spoken language, difficulty, reward and whether an entrance fee applies. Creator ratings are on every card.
- 02
Claim it
Claiming opens a private chat with the creator. If the bounty has an entrance fee, it is held in escrow — not spent — and refunded if you withdraw or nobody wins.
- 03
Submit your work
Upload a demo video or screenshots plus your source archive. Buyers can evaluate the result without getting the code first.
- 04
Get paid
If you win, the reward lands in your wallet the moment it is accepted. Withdraw to your bank whenever you like.
Money, fees and safety
- Escrow
- Rewards are held by the platform from the moment a bounty is posted until it is accepted, cancelled or expires.
- Platform fee
- CodeMarket keeps 5% of the reward when a solution is accepted. The listed “winner takes home” amount is already net of that.
- Entrance fee
- Optional for the creator, capped at 10% of the reward. It is held in a separate escrow and refunded in full if a coder withdraws, the bounty is cancelled or the deadline passes. When a winner is picked, 75% goes to the creator and 25% to the platform.
- Automatic screening
- Uploaded images and videos are checked automatically before anyone sees them, and links inside descriptions carry a warning.
- Disputes and reporting
- Either side can open a dispute, which freezes escrow until an administrator decides. Bounties, submissions and profiles can all be reported.
- Reputation
- Both sides review each other after a bounty settles. Ratings, completed bounties and totals are public on every profile.
